Shopping Mall Flooring & Ceiling — Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Project Overview
A new retail complex in Dar es Salaam — the city's largest at the time — required commercial-grade flooring and ceiling systems capable of handling heavy daily foot traffic. The developer had a tight construction window and needed materials delivered in phases aligned with each floor's readiness.
What We Delivered
We supplied large-format porcelain tiles rated for high-traffic commercial use. The suspended ceiling grid was calculated to accommodate HVAC, fire sprinklers, and lighting integration. Aluminum composite panels for the façade were cut to size at the factory, reducing on-site fabrication time.
Materials Breakdown
What We Supplied
Large-format porcelain tiles (600×1200mm, high traffic rating), suspended ceiling T-bar grids with acoustic tiles, aluminum composite panels (façade & column cladding), glass escalator balustrades (tempered, frameless), LED linear lighting for common areas, expansion joint profiles & transition strips
Why It Matters for Your Business
Shopping malls are complex projects where multiple trades — electricians, HVAC technicians, fire safety engineers — all depend on your materials being on site at the right time. We managed phased deliveries across 4 months, each phase arriving exactly when the construction schedule required it. That level of coordination is what separates a professional supplier from a transactional one.
Key Results
15,000 sqm of retail space completed. All 4 phased deliveries arrived within 3 days of scheduled dates. The mall opened to the public on the developer's originally announced date with full tenant occupancy.
